A cooperating witness who starred in the last round of public corruption trials against high-ranking New York City officials must pay nearly $891,000 in restitution, a federal judge ruled on Wednesday.
The sum is a significant reduction of the nearly $12 million in restitution cooperator Jona Rechnitz was ordered to pay at his initial sentencing in 2019.
