Long Island-based midsize firm Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone and its managing partner David Heymann were sued in New York federal court Wednesday for allegedly permitting sexual harassment and a discriminatory work culture against female members of the firm.

The suit, filed by former partner Laura Brancato in the Southern District of New York, claims that Heymann, along with labor and employment co-chair Jonathan Farrell and firm founder Lew Meltzer, permitted sexist and harassing behavior at the 82-attorney firm, ranging from specific comments directed at Brancato to supposedly traditional lewd joke sessions hosted at firm networking events.
