Pittsburgh-headquartered Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott is suing a former real estate client in New York state court after the client allegedly did not pay the firm over $300,000 in legal fees.

The client, New York-based developer and real estate investor Jacob Frydman, originally hired Eckert Seamans to represent him in a dispute with his former business partner Eli Verschleiser. Frydman accused Verschleiser of damaging his business after Verschleiser was ousted from the shared business. Verschleiser was found liable, but Frydman allegedly still failed to pay his legal fees.
