A subsidiary of global consulting group McKinsey will pay more than $122 million to resolve a U.S. investigation into a scheme to bribe South African officials that netted the company some $85 million in profits, the Justice Department announced Thursday.

McKinsey Africa entered into a three-year deferred prosecution agreement in connection with charges filed in the Southern District of New York. Prosecutors alleged the company conspired to violate anti-bribery provisions of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
