A New York judge on Monday denied an attempt by counsel for President-elect Donald Trump to dismiss his Manhattan criminal case based on the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling regarding presidential immunity—finding the so-called “hush money” case was based on "entirely unofficial conduct.”

In a 41-page ruling, Acting Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan found that presidential immunity did not apply as he denied motions from Trump’s defense team to vacate the indictment against their client and toss a jury verdict that found Trump guilty of 34-counts of falsifying business records.
