Couch White, a regional law firm headquartered in Albany, New York, has joined the national conversation on the Corporate Transparency Act, saying a fast-approaching reporting deadline should remain paused because its requirements will burden U.S. businesses.

Couch White recently filed a nuanced amicus brief that asks to delay the government's request to consider a stay of the CTA, which imposes a Jan. 1 deadline for businesses to file reports of its Beneficial Ownership Information.
