The attorney for New York City Mayor Eric Adams told a judge he was simply defending his client against prosecutors' own extrajudicial statements.

Federal prosecutors have been slinging “false and unethical” comments since the advent of their public corruption case against New York City’s Mayor, Eric Adams’ attorney Alex Spiro told a judge.
Spiro’s reply came in response to a letter from prosecutors on Friday, accusing the Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan partner of crossing the line in his public comments and asking the judge to remind defense counsel not to violate obligations against public statements that could poison a jury pool.
