Class actions targeting companies for allegedly failing to safeguard consumers' health care data from cyberattacks swamped New York federal courts in December.

Lynch Carpenter, Mason, Levi & Korsinsky, Milberg Coleman Bryson Phillips Grossman, Stranch, Jennings & Garvey, Kopelowitz Ostrow, Sultzer & Lipari and Leeds Brown Law filed seven complaints against Phreesia, a patient intake software, and its subsidiary ConnectOnCall.com, a telehealth platform and on-call answering service for health care providers, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. None of the firms immediately responded to requests for comment.
