A federal appeals court on Thursday unanimously revived an expressive-rights lawsuit that seeks to invalidate New York's Boss Bill of 2019, which prevents employers from discriminating against workers who have decided to have abortions.

Brought by a trio of conservative plaintiffs who say the act undermines their beliefs about abortion, contraception, and sexual morality by forcing them to employ people who cannot effectively convey the groups’ message because they refuse to abide by the organizations’ statements of faith and core principles, the case is captioned CompassCare v. Hochul.
