Manhattan prosecutors on Thursday urged the U.S. Supreme Court to deny an emergency bid by President-elect Donald Trump to delay his Friday sentencing, while the defense countered the District Attorney's Office failed to grasp the importance of an "energetic executive" to the transition.
Prosecutors argued the Supreme Court has no jurisdiction over the matter and that Trump has failed to meet the burden necessary to justify the court's intervention.
