A longtime New York jurist who’s also a retired staffer for the steelworkers’ union agreed to be admonished for making more than $6,000 in prohibited political contributions, a state judicial watchdog said on Friday.

The part-time jurist, Richland Town Justice James H. Ridgeway, of Oswego County, had worked as a staff representative with the United Steelworkers Union from 2006 until he retired in June 2017, the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct said.
