US Soccer Monopoly Trial Set to Kick Off in Brooklyn Federal Court
Witness testimony may influence whether the jury finds the defendants liable for Sherman Act violations. The jury may view video depositions of key witnesses in the trial, including MLS Commissioner Don Garber and United Soccer League CEO Alec Papadakis.

A trial jury in Brooklyn federal court will be asked to determine whether Major League Soccer and the U.S. Soccer Federation have conspired to monopolize the market for top-tier professional soccer leagues in the United States, in violation of the Sherman Act.
The antitrust case was brought by a rival league, the North American Soccer League.
Jury selection is scheduled to begin Monday followed by opening statements on Tuesday

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
