What You Need to Know
- Bondi's loyalism to Trump is a concern for some former federal prosecutors and defense lawyers.
- Investigations into so-called enemies of the administration could be possible, some observers say, while others have doubts.
- Attorneys also pointed to Trump's other DOJ appointments, including Todd Blanche, Emil Bove and D. John Sauer.
Former prosecutors and defense lawyers are raising more predictions and concern over the nomination of Pam Bondi, President-elect Donald Trump’s latest pick for attorney general, with some lawyers concerned about her ability to remain independent from the White House as well as her lobbyist background.
Her nomination has not garnered as much sharp reaction as Trump’s first pick for the position, Matt Gaetz. However, Bondi remains a bit of a wild card, with some observers pointing to her lack of federal prosecution experience.
