The last few decades have probably seen more change to daily life than in all of human history. So many things have fallen by the wayside and many of them are woefully missed. Hardly anyone goes to religious services on a weekly basis anymore. Weekly bowling leagues are pretty rare, too.

One troubling thing I’ve noticed lately is that people just quit reading books and newspapers. You can hardly even find them for sale unless you’re in an airport, and even then, I don’t think there’s much market for them anymore. This is an enormous tragedy. When there’s less access to new ideas and things, one becomes set in their thinking. Like a horse with blinders, we are stuck with nothing new coming into our information except for what an advertising-driven algorithm sticks in front of us on screen. I do not think we are better for this at all.
