Breon Peace, the 48th U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York, took office on Oct. 15, 2021.

Before his appointment by President Joe Biden, Peace worked at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, where he became the first Black man to be elected partner, served as an assistant U.S. attorney in the EDNY, and clerked for the late U.S. District Judge Sterling Johnson of the Eastern District.
