A Manhattan judge on Wednesday denied yet another retrial bid by defense attorneys for Robert Menendez, paving the way for sentencing of the ex-U.S. senator from New Jersey.
Defense counsel asked U.S. District Court Judge Sidney Stein to order a retrial after federal prosecutors revealed the jury had accidentally been given the incorrect versions of nine exhibits on the laptop provided for deliberation.
