Svetlana Dali is charged in the Eastern District of New York as being a stowaway on an aircraft bound from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Paris. After a bail hearing she was released on multiple conditions, including GPS location monitoring, a curfew at an assigned residence, and restricted travel. She was later arrested on Dec. 16 in Buffalo while attempting to enter into Canada after having cut off her GPS monitor and absconding.

On Jan. 15, Magistrate Judge Joseph A. Marutollo of the Eastern District of New York revoked Dali's release and issued a permanent order of detention. Clear and convincing evidence showed that Dali violated multiple conditions of her release and was unlikely to abide by any condition or combination of conditions of her release.
