Charles Linehan, who led the Brooklyn District Attorney Office’s acclaimed conviction review unit for three years, has joined forces with veteran attorney Karen Newirth to co-found a firm that focuses on freeing and securing civil judgments for wrongfully convicted defendants.

For Linehan, the new venture marks another return to the private sector—he spent the first 15 years of his legal career with the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, then worked for a combined five years with private investigative firms K2 Integrity and Quest Research & Investigation. With K2, Linehan was a corruption watchdog for the building trades. He began to turn his sights on wrongful conviction cases with QRI.
