Recent news reports have been dominated by scenes of angry citizens showing up at town hall meetings to oppose government-run health care. Whether extremely well organized by entrenched interests, as some argue, or a spontaneous groundswell of opposition to government intrusion in private affairs, as others assert, the reaction seems to have taken the Obama administration by surprise. They seem to find themselves without a clear or effective strategy to implement legislation which has been a key goal of Democratic administrations.
