A trio of lawyers—Frederick P. Hafetz, Kenneth E. Warner and John R. Cuti—represented Anthony D. Marshall, the son of the late socialite and philanthropist Brooke Astor who was convicted yesterday of helping himself to his mother’s fortune.

The defense was led by Mr. Hafetz, whose 46-year career has been spent entirely handling criminal cases, 10 years as a prosecutor and the remainder on the defense side in firms he founded.
