Despite a weak economy that caused downsizing in law firms citywide, New York firms increased diversity in their ranks during the last year, according to a new report.
The number of minority attorneys reached 18.1 percent, up from 16.5 percent two years ago, according to a report released Wednesday by the New York City Bar. And while the number of female attorneys remained flat, more women are making partner.
