An article on April 16, “Divided Panel Rejects Citizen Bid for Inquiry Into Council Practice,” incorrectly reported that former Councilman Miguel Martinez was the sponsor of a grant to the Donna Reid Memorial Education Fund, and incorrectly reported that two of Mr. Martinez’s aides pleaded guilty to embezzling money from groups earmarked by Mr. Martinez.
Also on April 16, the article and headline, “Some Insurers Seek Unsealing of Property Damage Deal,” describing a challenge to a settlement of property damage claims against insurance companies for airlines and aviation security defendants in connection with the 9/11 terror attacks incorrectly stated that insurers of Larry Silverstein’s World Trade Center properties had mounted the challenge. It was Mr. Silverstein and his businesses that challenged the settlement as collusive.
