The former managing partner of Lovells’ New York office has decamped to join Mayer Brown. David Alberts, 46, joins as a partner in Mayer Brown’s corporate and securities practice and its insurance industry group. He led U.K.-based Lovells’ New York operations for six years before its merger with Hogan & Hartson earlier this month to form Hogan Lovells.

Mr. Alberts said his departure was not due to conflicts and that his decision was not a “negative” comment on the merged firm. “It was just more about the platform at Mayer Brown for what I do, that was probably the main factor,” he said.
