Citing a “culture of acceptance of delay” in New York City Family Court, a report released today by the New York County Lawyers’ Association offers a number of recommendations aimed at making the court “more effective…for the litigants who pass through its doors.”

Issued by NYCLA’s Task Force on the Family Court, the 53-page “initial” report examines a wide-range of questions, from what steps can be taken to enhance the court’s ability to “hear and try cases quickly and effectively” to how to standardize the collection and reporting of data.
