New electronic voting machines deployed statewide for today’s primary may confuse voters and lead to more complex, lengthy post-election litigation in the view of several prominent election lawyers.
“The new machines are bringing Bush v. Gore-style litigation to New York with election lawyers arguing over the electronic equivalent of hanging chads,” said Stephen Schlesinger, counsel for Nassau County Democratic Party.
