Managing partners from throughout the state will meet next week at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler to discuss major challenges faced by law firms, largely as a result of the recession.

The group, which is being brought together by a New York State Bar Association task force examining the future of the legal profession, will include leaders from Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison; Weil, Gotshal & Manges; and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. The participants are expected to discuss alternative billing, lawyer training and other issues under study by the task force.
