The last of all the wrongful death actions seeking to hold airlines and their security companies liable for the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks is nearly ready for trial.
Southern District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein yesterday set a June 13 trial date in the case brought by the family of Mark Bavis of West Newton, Mass., a talent scout for the Los Angeles Kings professional hockey team who was on United Airlines Flight 175 when it crashed into the World Trade Center’s south tower. The judge estimated that the trial should be complete by July 22.
