Loeb & Loeb has announced that New York partner Michael Beck will in February become the sole chair of the 300-plus-lawyer firm after seven years of splitting duties with John Frankenheimer in Los Angeles. Mr. Frankenheimer, who is stepping down after 13 years in the position, will serve as chair emeritus and remain chair of the firm’s music industry practice group. Mr. Beck, a real estate partner, became co-chair with Mr. Frankenheimer in 2003

Loeb & Loeb in a press release credited Mr. Frankenheimer with instituting policies allowing the firm to grow steadily and enjoy 11 consecutive years of increased profitability despite two recessions. Profits per partner have climbed to $1.49 million in 2009 from $430,000 in 1998. “Through a streamlined corporate management style and focused strategy, we have been incredibly successful,” Mr. Beck said in a statement. “The firm will continue to focus on its strengths and I look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence we have built together.” – Nate Raymond
