ALBANY – Both candidates for state attorney general have spent a lot of time talking about how they would take the offensive against crime.

Democrat Eric T. Schneiderman and Republican Daniel M. Donovan have offered ideas for combatting a seemingly endless list of wrongdoing including government corruption, Medicaid fraud, Wall Street abuses, illegal campaign contributions, gun violence, tax fraud and untaxed cigarette sales.
