The Lawyers Alliance for New York on Wednesday honored Linklaters and Weil, Gotshal & Manges with its 2010 Cornerstone Awards, which recognize “outstanding pro bono legal services to nonprofit groups that are improving quality of life for low-income and disadvantaged New Yorkers.” In addition, Lawyers Alliance gave Cornerstone Awards to two attorney teams and seven individual lawyers at a ceremony at Pfizer Inc. in Manhattan. “This year’s honorees devoted substantial time, energy and expertise to nonprofit organizations that are having a profound and positive impact during challenging economic times,” Tom Kennedy, vice chair of the board of directors of Lawyers Alliance said in a statement.

This year’s individual awardees were: Nia M. Brown, DLA Piper; Jason E. Burritt, Seyfarth Shaw; Peter DiConza, Citigroup (formerly of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom); Andrés V. Gil, Ron M. Aizen and legal team, Davis Polk & Wardwell; Scott A. Gold, Schulte Roth & Zabel; Matthew John Gurch, White & Case; Jessica Hoppe, Elizabeth S. Mandell and legal team, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton; Eric K. Moser, Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy; and Edward A. Pisacreta, New York-Presbyterian Hospital (formerly of Holland & Knight).
