While Mr. Schneiderman ran TV ads throughout October, Mr. Donovan suspended his in the middle of the month and resumed them last week in selected areas. “We have enough money to be competitive and to win this thing,” Mr. Donovan said Friday in a conference call with reporters.
Mr. Schneiderman, who spent more than $5 million in winning a five-way Democratic primary has been ahead of Mr. Donovan throughout the general election in funds raised. Since Oct. 19, Mr. Schneiderman has received a $100,000 contribution from his father Irwin, a retired attorney; $50,000 each from partners Perry Weitz and Arthur Luxenberg of Weitz & Luxenberg; $50,000 from Mr. Luxenberg’s wife Randi; $25,000 from developer Andrew Farkas; and $25,000 from Constantine Cannon partner Abby Milstein.
