The World Trade Center Captive Insurance Company has extended until Tuesday the deadline for plaintiffs to opt into the massive settlement of respiratory and other claims filed by those who responded to the 9/11 terror attacks and helped clean up the disaster site.

The Captive, which is covering the costs of legal defense and payments to plaintiffs who sued New York City and its contractors, granted a request by lead plaintiffs’ firms Worby Groner Edelman & Napoli Bern and Sullivan Papain Block McGrath & Cannavo for the extension.
