Thermo Fisher Scientific will acquire chromatography system manufacturer Dionex Corporation for $2.1 billion.

The maker of laboratory and diagnostic equipment will pay Dionex shareholders $118.50 per share in cash, a 21 percent premium to the stock’s closing price on Dec. 10. However, at least one shareholder has sued to block the deal, alleging that the price is too low.
