Days after former Governor David A. Paterson paid $62,125 to settle an ethics probe, he remains a client of Theodore V. Wells Jr. of Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison, which has earned nearly $1 million representing Mr. Paterson in connection with several investigations. A firm spokesman confirmed yesterday that Mr. Wells continues to represent the former governor.

Mr. Paterson last week paid $62,125 in fines and reimbursement for accepting two 2009 World Series tickets he received from the New York Yankees without offering to reimburse the team. Walter Ayres, a spokesman for the state Commission on Public Integrity, said the payment satisfies a judgment made against the ex-governor last summer by the commission and closes the panel’s case against him. “It’s done,” Mr. Ayres said.
