McKool Smith has added two former federal prosecutors as principals: Jack Cooney and Thomas E. Engel. The pair served together in the Southern District U.S. Attorney’s Office and will co-lead McKool Smith’s new international white-collar practice.

Peter S. Morgan has joined Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal as a partner in the corporate practice. He was chair of the hedge fund group at Thacher Proffitt & Wood.

Alan S. Gaynor has joined Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker as a partner in the New York office. He was with Greenberg Traurig.

Robert S. Stone has joined The Dorf Law Firm in Mamaroneck as of counsel. He was vice president, general counsel and secretary of the Paxar Corporation.

Edward P. Christian has rejoined Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld as senior counsel in the corporate practice. He was with McDermott, Will & Emery.

Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel partners Harold P. Weinberger, head of the advertising group, and Barry H. Berke, co-chair of the white-collar defense and SEC regulatory practice, were inducted as fellows into the invitation-only American College of Trial Lawyers during the group’s annual meeting Saturday in Puerto Rico.
