The wave of law school dean appointments continues.

The latest school to name a new dean is Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, which has tapped DePaul University College of Law professor Craig Boise.

“Craig has published extensively and is well respected for his research in money laundering and offshore banking practices,” said Cleveland State University President Ronald Berkman in a written announcement. “He brings and intellectual approach to law that clearly stands out among his peers.”

Boise is currently director of DePaul’s tax program and director of its Institute for Offshore Financial Center Studies. He joined the DePaul faculty in 2009. Before that, he was an associate professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a visiting professor at Washington and Lee University School of Law. He has practiced at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld; Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton; and Thompson Hine. Boise will be the law school’s first black dean.

“Cleveland-Marshall is an outstanding law school with strong faculty and loyal alumni,” Boise said. “I’m looking forward to raising the school’s national reputation.

The school was ranked No. 132 on U.S. News & World Report‘s list of law schools in 2011.
