Chief Administrative Judge Ann Pfau has named Acting Supreme Court Justice James C. Hudson, 51 (See Profile), as the supervising judge of the Suffolk County Court, Criminal Term. The court has 15 judges and handled 3,083 indictments last year. Justice Hudson will fill a position that became vacant when Justice C. Randall Hinrichs (See Profile) was named the county’s administrative judge. Justice Hudson was elected to the County Court bench in 2000 and re-elected last year. He has served as an acting Supreme Court justice since May 2009.

A New York Law School graduate, he was an assistant Suffolk County district attorney from 1984 to 1992, and was counsel to Justice William L. Underwood Jr. from 1992 to 2000. — Jeff Storey
