A former Ropes & Gray partner has filed a discrimination lawsuit against the firm, claiming age and sex discrimination.

Patricia Martone, now a partner in the patent litigation practice at Morrison & Foerster, filed the suit in federal district court in Manhattan on March 22. She alleges that Ropes & Gray undermined her by reassigning her clients to younger, male partners before firing her in retaliation for her complaints to firm leadership. Martone is claiming the firm engaged in age and sex discrimination, and retaliation. The firm, she claims, offered her an early retirement with reduced benefits, in violation of ERISA.
