The latest Howrey hires by Jones Day in D.C. involve John Froemming, the former head of Howrey’s trademark group, and IP litigator Susan Kayser. Joining the firm in Los Angeles are former insurance recovery chair David Steuber, insurance recovery cochair and Southern California office head Tyrone Childress, and litigation partners David Meyer and Amy Fink.

According to The American Lawyer’s Howrey Scorecard, which has the complete breakdown on the whereabouts of ex-partners, Jones Day joins Baker Botts and Winston & Strawn as those Am Law 100 firms that have hired the most Howrey alums.

Bracewell & Giuliani snagged former Howrey securities litigation and white-collar defense cochair Richard Beckler on Thursday, according to The Wall Street Journal’s Law Blog. And on Wednesday, Steptoe & Johnson hired former federal prosecutor and Howrey litigation partner James Hibey for its office in D.C.

Earlier this week, Hibey’s close friend at his former firm, litigator Billy Martin, joined Dorsey & Whitney. Several other Howrey partners have landed this week at Baker Botts, Dewey LeBoeuf, andFulbright & Jaworski.

A federal judge in Washington today threw out a former federal prosecutor’s suit alleging the Department of Justice violated his privacy and speech rights in leaking information about an internal ethics investigation to the press.
