Albany-area attorney Mae A. D’Agostino was confirmed yesterday with an 88-0 vote by the U.S. Senate for a slot on the Northern District bench. Ms. D’Agostino, 55, is a founding partner of D’Agostino Krackeler Baynes & Maguire. She had spent nearly two decades with the firm now called Maynard, O’Connor, Smith & Catalinotto in Albany before forming her own firm in 1997. Ms. D’Agostino specialized in civil litigation and appeals with both firms.

A Syracuse University College of Law graduate with no judicial experience, Ms. D’Agostino will be the only woman on the Northern District bench. She was nominated last year by President Barack Obama, who renominated her in January after the Senate failed to act.
