A former chief executive convicted of fraud who sued defense attorney Benjamin Brafman for fraudulent misrepresentation has had his lawsuit thrown out.
Mehdi Gabayzadeh, one-time head of American Tissue Inc., claimed from behind bars that while he paid Mr. Brafman under different fee arrangements pretrial, post-trial and at sentencing, the veteran defense attorney had misrepresented his credentials, including his ability to handle a complex fraud case.
