BUFFALO, N.Y. — A New York prison inmate has pleaded guilty to grand larceny after collecting $8,700 in unemployment benefits while behind bars.

Albert Weathers of Buffalo appeared Thursday in Erie County Court. Also pleading guilty was his girlfriend, Lisa Conroy of Amherst. Conroy faced lesser, misdemeanor charges of attempted grand larceny and offering a false instrument.
