The Commission on Judicial Conduct has elected as its vice chairwoman Court of Claims Judge Terry Jane Ruderman, an appointee of former Chief Judge Judith S. Kaye who has been a member since 1999. Judge Ruderman was an assistant Westchester County district attorney, deputy county attorney and a private lawyer before she was appointed to the Court of Claims by Governor George E. Pataki in 1995. She is assigned to the court’s White Plains district.

Judge Ruderman replaces Stephen R. Coffey as vice chair. Mr. Coffey is a partner in the law firm of O’Connell & Aronowitz in Albany. He was appointed to the commission in 1995 by former Senate Majority Leader Joseph L. Bruno, and re-appointed in 1999, 2003 and 2007. His latest term ended on March 31, and he was not reappointed.
