Restaurateurs Peter Poulakakos and his father Harry are planning a rebirth for Pier A, a landmark Hudson River pier on the east side of Battery Park that had fallen into disrepair.

The Hugh L. Carey Battery Park City Authority (BPCA) has approved a 25-year lease for the 40,000-square-foot pier with Pier A Battery Associates, with Peter Poulakakos as one of its managers, and development partner The Dermot Company.
