The Florida Bar has found probable cause to pursue ethics charges against former Broward County prosecutor Howard Scheinberg, who is accused of having a close personal relationship with the judge presiding over a murder trial he prosecuted.

A state Judicial Qualifications Commission inquiry involving former Broward Circuit Judge Ana Gardiner found the pair communicated 1,420 times by phone and text during the case that produced the death penalty for Omar Loureiro.
