Hundreds of phone calls and text messages between former Broward Circuit Judge Ana Gardiner and Howard Scheinberg, a former homicide prosecutor under investigation by The Florida Bar, were at all times personal and not case-related, according to Scheinberg.

Gardiner and Scheinberg became friends during the March 2007 first-degree murder trial of Omar Loureiro. Gardiner presided over the trial, Scheinberg was the prosecutor, and Loureiro was sentenced to death.
