The plaintiff, SISG, Inc., seeks a preliminary injunction against the defendants Rich Gentile and Rosnik Publishing Inc. a/k/a Staten Island Shoppers Guide, based on claims of tortuous interference, wrongful inducement of breach of contract, and unfair competition. The defendants cross move to dismiss the complaint.

The plaintiff and defendants are competitors in the field of advertising. Both produce publications which provide shopping guides to residents throughout Staten Island. Various businesses pay to advertise in these publications. The plaintiff claims that the defendants offered $1,000 or a discount on a $1,500 advertising bill to one of the plaintiff’s customers, Vehicle Brokerage of Staten Island, Inc. ( “Vehicle Brokerage” ), so that it would advertise with the defendants. The plaintiff claims that the defendants sought to obtain this business through unfair competition. The plaintiff also claims that it had a contractual agreement with Vehicle Brokerage.
