Martens v. Smith Barney, Inc. – In 1996 a class of women employed at Smith Barney, Inc. (“Smith Barney”) filed a class action lawsuit against Smith Barney and other defendants alleging gender discrimination and sexual harassment throughout the company. The lawsuit resulted in a settlement agreement approved by Judge Motley of this Court in 1998. Certain named plaintiffs, Patricia Clemente, Marianne Dalton, Lisa Mays, and Teresa Tedesco (the “Moving Plaintiffs”), have now filed a “motion to enforce” the settlement agreement. Before the Court is also a motion to supplement the motion to enforce, a motion to strike the reply brief in that motion, as well as a motion for discovery. The Court will resolve each of these issues below.
