U.S. District Chief Judge Royce Lamberth dismissed part of a lawsuit filed against Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice by a former client, a Catholic broadcasting and educational programming nonprofit, which had accused the firm of making costly errors.

The North American Catholic Educational Programming Foundation sued the firm in June 2009 in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, alleging that Womble and one of its former attorneys, Howard Barr, missed critical deadlines in appealing the denial of broadcasting licenses to the foundation in the Las Vegas, Nev., market, and also made errors in handling other licensing matters elsewhere.
