One of the largest commercial buildings in Manhattan, the Starrett-Lehigh Building, at 601 W. 26th St., was sold for $920 million. Located in Chelsea, the 2.3 million-square-foot property encompasses an entire square block between 11th and 12th avenues, and West 26th and West 27st streets. Originally an industrial building, it is now the home of several major designers and advertisers.
The 19-story West Side property was acquired by RXR SL Owner LLC, an affiliate of the N.J.-based real estate and investment company RXR Realty.
